European Microscopy Society (EMS)

9 to 11 June 2026
IMN, Nantes, France

The 14th edition of the “Journées de l’EELS” (JEELS 2026) will be held at the Institute of Materials of Nantes, IMN, Jean Rouxel (Nantes, France) from June 9 to 11, 2026.

As in previous editions, this renowned French conference brings together French and European leaders in EELS (electron energy loss spectroscopy) technology and the main manufacturers. It offers an excellent forum for electron spectroscopists and microscopists—both experimentalists and theorists—to share their latest results and to discuss recent developments and future prospects in electron spectro-microscopy techniques.

 Topical areas of JEELS2026 include:

  • EELS on functional materials (quantum, energy materials, 2D materials)
  • New instrumentation and applications
  • Advances in low-loss and core-edge EELS
  • In situ, operando, cryo- EELS
  • EELS in liquids and gases
  • Tomo EELS
  • Machine learning, automation, signal treatment for EELS
  • New methods for EELS on sensitive materials
