The Corrected Electron Optical Systems GmbH, founded in 1996 and located at Heidelberg, Germany, develops and manufactures aberration-corrected electron optical imaging systems. In the field of Cc/Cs-correctors for TEM, STEM and SEM we are technology leader world wide. Our main focus is on research projects for our industrial and academic partners, the development of prototype instrumentation and the production of small-batch series of OEM devices.
In our group of physicists and engineers you will work on the development of advanced electronoptical instrumentation. This requires extensive theoretical simulations, understanding of the physical requirements and the ability to judge technological constraints. You will use our proprietary software tools for ray tracing based on perturbation-theoretical methods, numerical codes to calculate electromagnetic fields, and image analysis for aberration measurement. You will also contribute to the improvement of our simulation and analysis tools. You will help to develop novel theoretical solutions into real instrumentation and you will support the evaluation and interpretation of test results from the prototypes.
The position requires a profound education in applied mathematics and physics. Prior experience in optics design and field calculation based on the boundary element method would be an advantage. A broad technical and physical background, good communication skills and a responsible and organized way of working are necessary. We expect excellent skills in scientic computing including programming in C/C++ and scripting languages. We explicitly encourage recently graduated candidates who are motivated to become experts in our domain of computational sciences. A good command of the English language and the willingness to learn German are necessary. We offer an attractive job in the stimulating scientic environment of modern electron optics instrumentation with motivated and friendly colleagues and good social and financial conditions.
